SOAR Research Grant Award

I am excited to share that I have been selected as a Recipient of the Student Opportunities in Academic Research through Valley City State University. I am currently pursuing certificates in Piano Pedagogy and Music Composition at VCSU.

This semester, I will be conducting a research project centered around analyzing pop/hyperpop music melodies, and exploring a new way of understanding these melodies with what I am terming “hyper melody”. Artists I am studying include AG Cook, easy fun, SOPHIE, charli xcx, and Cecile Believe.

HERE is another example of a research paper I did exploring melodies in Hyperpop music, specifically those of the Swedish artist Namasenda.
