The Piano Teachers’ Forum of Grand Rapids hosted its first ever Piano Student Composition Contest, commemorating the 175th anniversary of the city of Grand Rapids. Six of my students entered original music compositions in the contest, and I am so proud that two are represented among the winning composers: Maggie as the Winner of the Lower Level division, and Ember as the Honorable Mention of the Lower Level Division.
